Chapter Dues are $15 per person and you need to be a current member
of National H.O.G.® The local Membership year is from January 1st to
December 31st.
One of our major charitable fundraisers is the Toy Run Breakfast which
is held each year prior to the Toy Run to Augusta. All proceeds are donated
to MDA at the MDA Telethon.
Each year, we hold a raffle (usually a bike) with most of the proceeds being donated to the Shriner's Children Burn Center in Springfield, MA.
Another annual event is our Blood Drive for the American Red Cross which is held each January.
The first official meeting of Mid-Maine Lewiston HOG Chapter was August 22, 1990.
The chapter was originally chartered on October 4, 1990.
The sponsoring dealer was Harleys-R-U.S (now L-A Harley-Davidson). The charter officers were: Director,
Paul Castonguay; Assistant Director, Mike Lessard; Secretary/Treasurer, Cathy Madore.
A sad day for chapter was February 24, 1997, when the then
Schott Harley-Davidson, burned to the ground despite the heroic efforts of the Lewiston Fire Department. A new store was built at the same location and has been expanded several times since.
In October 2005 our sponsoring dealership, Schott Harley-Davidson, was sold. The dealership's name was changed to L-A Harley-Davidson. Thus, our Chapter Number changed also, to reflect the new dealer number, from #1746 to #1980.
